Hi Ian,
You will have to see the color once you receive the step bumper. It may match good. But since there are many color shades of black, you may decide to have it painted if the black of your body does not match with this step bumper finish.

The black of the bumper is a lighter shade of the black Toyota uses on the body panels. Thats just my opinion. I put one on a friends Tundra and he didnt care about the difference in shades. He did tell me his truck is17 years old so who cares.

I had mine painted but that was expected since my truck is green. You can use it as is because it's a good powder coat.

As per checking, this is a guaranteed fit for your 2001 Toyota Tundra Base 6 Cyl 3.4L. And yes, there is a provision space for the license plate lights for this step bumper oe direct fit.

I bought this bumper for my 2002 Tundra. The bumper was painted gray by the manufacturer. I spray painted it black and it looks awesome. The paint adhered perfectly.

If we are talking about the same bumper, I put it on my 2004 limited. There was a slight difference w the upper plastic pieces not fitting perfect abs the bumper sides won’t wrap around like the original. They will be an inch short. Other than that, seems to be holding up well so far.

With a dozen are so bolts. They are already on your truck. Pop the rubber top off the bumper and you'll see most of them. Some underneath. If, like me, your truck is over 15 years old, you better get a god wrench and a cheater -- they are going to be rusted on.
