I purchased these shock mounts when I purchased the rear shocks for my 2002 VW Jetta. After I installed them I noticed some squeaking right of the bat. Within a few days of that it turned into loud rattling. I put my car on a jack and removed the shock and shock mount to find the mount had fallen apart. In less than a week the mount failed. I guess you get what you pay for!!

I ordered the part (front upper strut mounts) because a VW dealership said that it needs to be replaced. I brought my VW Beetle to AAMCO for a second opinion and they said the the part is still very good. So I decided not to have it replaced, but I am keeping the part since it is really not that expensive ($40 for the pair). The VW dealership wanted $600 to have it replaced. Go figure.
