Question: Bought this for my 2018 Chevrolet Malibu LT 4 Cyl 1.5L. It doesn't fit. My current gas fill opening doesn't have a cap. It's just one of those little gates with a spring on it. There are no threads onto which you would screw this locking cap into place. What am I missing? Why doesn't this work?

Hi Wayne, I'm happy to assist you. To unlock this item, turn the key 1/4 counterclockwise, then back and remove the key. Unscrew the cap counterclockwise. The instruction is also printed on the cap. I was sent a locking threaded gas cap. Before I even receive a refund I ordered another gas cap with the hope of receiving one that would accept the existing tether. Answered by Jeonino E. / Fri, Feb 12If the neck to your gas tank is slotted please use a slotted gas cap. And if the neck to your gas tank is threaded then use a threaded gas cap and do not mix or it will not work the tank will not hold the proper pressure engine light will come on.
