Hi Sherman, I'm glad to assist you. There is a considerable amount of oil to protect the inside from rusting during its stay on the dealer's shelves, retailers' stores, and in the course of transport. But, manufacturers recommend that you drain the "shipping oil." The vacuuming process of the A/C system would suck off the pre-filled oil before the proper amount of PAG oil and freon are loaded into the system (a/c charging).
