Finally solved my ABS issue with my GMC Envoy XL. Even though no OBD-II error codes were found by me or the dealer, I started by replacing the front hubs with new wheel speed sensors as well as the rear speed sensor mounted at the transmission since this is a high mileage vehicle. Unfortunately, the initial repairs did not eliminate the issue. Once I ordered and installed this remanufactured ABS control module, my issue was resolved and normal operation of the ABS system returned. The core return process/instructions were a bit strict and could be streamlined/improved or preferably included with the new part along with the required RMA #; however, I anticipate receiving my refund within the next few weeks.

Question: How is the ABS module reprogrammed? Are special scan tools or other equipment required or will I need to carry the vehicle and remanufactured module to my local GMC dealer?Ted in FL / Jun 04, 2023
Hi Ted, I'm glad to assist you. As of Dorman's technical notes, once this ABS module is installed, an ABS light may appear with no codes.
