Great so far, but will the protective covering hold up long term?Alternator, 3.5L, 6Cyl, 150 Amp, Remanufactured, Qb Premium

Alternator fit and works perfectly so far.
I did however notice some flakes of protective paint coming off of the cooling fins inside the alternator. I turned the alternator upside-down and dumped the flakes out before the install so they wouldn't get caught up in the motor. I'm a bit concerned about the bare metal on those fins now. Are they going to corrode over time or is the protective material going to continue to flake and cause other issues?
