Question: The jeep will not change in to 2 r 3 untill you let iff ths gas jeep cherokee 1996 ?Avery R. / Mar 19, 2022
Hi Avery, I'm glad to assist you. A problem with one or more of the solenoids can cause a lack of pressure, resulting in hard, soft, or delayed shifts. a failed shift solenoid can also cause transmission slippage, where your engine revs faster but the car stays at the same speed. There is a big chance this is the problem. To order this. Grab our discounted sale price offer (23% less) and click the link below to order today. I hope this helps. Question: Does this control overdrive. All other gears work fine over drive does till I drive it about 20 miles then as soon as I let off the gas it kicks out of over drive?Steven L. / Nov 07, 2020
Hi Steven, The signs of a transmission solenoid problem is the transmission not being able to downshift. It is impossible to downshift in your car if the transmission solenoid is stuck. This means that the fluid won't fill the valve and the power gets too low, with the car being unable to gain the pressure to properly shift the gear. In addition, the car might have erratic shifting (this is an excerpt from one of our technical resource). Still, we recommend referring to a trusted vehicle specific repair manual for step by step instructions. Also, it is best to consult with your trusted local automotive shop or dealership on how to install this part.
