Question: My transmission started skipping. Is solenoids what I need to fix this problem?Lazarus Okolie / Jul 02, 2021
Hi Laz, I'm glad to assist you. The main driving symptoms of a bad transmission control solenoid is that there is delayed gear shifting, you can't downshift and your engine will continue to rev, your transmission will be stuck in the neutral position, and the shifting of gears becomes very rough and choppy. Still, please refer to a vehicle specific service repair manual or check with a certified mechanic to be accurate on the part you need to replace. Please click the link below to order this part today and take note that we have a 1 month post price match guarantee on this part. Happy shopping.

This part is not in the transmission. It is in the lower front half of the steering column just behind the steering wheel. You have to demount the steering wheel to R & R this troublesome solenoid. The function of this part is to allow you to shift the car out of park after you depress the brake pedal. When it sticks, you cannot shift the car out of Park.
