Question: Replaced the automatic transmission in my 1990 Honda Accord but the driving RPM's are lot higher than with my old transmission. What are some problems I may have? Thankswaloak / Aug 08, 2021
Hi Jerry, I'm glad to assist you. Generally, if the transmission develops a leak and fluid levels fall, a vehicle will begin to rev at higher levels as a result of the gearbox band or torque converter slipping. The vehicle will also experience irregular or delayed gear shifting. It is best if you can have it checked on your trusted local auto repair shop for an extensive troubleshooting and diagnostic to be accurate. I hope this helps. Happy shopping.

This condition can also be caused by low transmission fluid, contamination due to lack of maintenance or water intrusion, or internal wear and tear on the transmission parts inside the transmission. A high revving engine is a typical sign that you have worn clutches or other parts inside the transmission going bad.

I replaced this solenoid however there is another. On the bottom passenger side behind a little protection plate three bolts and two or three more to remove other solenoid. They work together in a 4speed auto transmission. For my 99 crv awd. They should be the same in 2wd models.

Hello! This particular pair of solenoids is the torque converter clutch lock-up solenoid assembly. The automatic control unit activates the assembly to engage the torque converter clutch.
