Hi Andrew, One best way to break-in pads is to avoid heavy braking or panic stops for the first couple of hundred miles. Break-in for brake pads is the process, commonly known as ‘bedding in’, transfers an even layer of brake-pad material onto the friction surface of the rotor. This helps with smoother braking, adds stopping power, and also minimizes squealing and vibration(excerpt from one of our tech database material).
