Fit BMW 2007 335xi SedanFront Euro Series Ceramic Brake Pad Set

After 55,000 miles the red maintenance light came on notifying me it was time to replace my front brake pads. I did some research and selected the Akebono Euro 918 ceramic pads to replace the original BMW pads. The BMW brake pads performed very well but they deposit a thick deposit of brake dust that sticks like glue to the wheels. I gave up on trying to keep the wheels clean because every time I finished cleaning them they would be covered with fresh brake dust within a week. These Akebono pads fit perfectly and installation was easy since I have replaced brake pads before. The Akebono pads come with a small amount of high temperature brake grease so be sure to lubricate the ears on each pad to prevent squealing. I also replaced the brake pad wear sensor (the sensor is on the driver's side on the front brakes) with a new sensor as required and I purchased a BMW brand sensor to avoid any problems. You can easily reset the red warning light on the dash by watching a couple YouTube videos and save yourself a bundle of money. My rotors did not need replacing so the entire cost of the front brake job was about $90. If you have this service done at a BMW dealer they will charge you over $300 and they will probably insist on replacing your rotors in addition to the pads, which can boost the total cost to the $500 range.
So how do the Akebono Euro 918 pads perform? Pretty good but they are not as grippy as the BMW pads and you need to apply more foot pressure when stopping. After several days of driving I quickly adjusted to driving with the Akebono pads and they are fine for daily driving around town. If you plan to drive your car on a track there are better choices for high-performance pads. The Akebono pads are very quiet and there is no noise at all when braking. The best feature is these pads are clean and there is very little brake dust. I can finally keep my wheels clean and I don't have to be constantly be scrubbing my wheels and washing black dust off the driveway!

The front and rear switch to ceramic brake pads is complete. Mounted with new rotors at the same time. Fitment was perfect, no squeal and almost no brake dust!
I did notice a little less stopping power, but that may go away after the pads and rotors are completely bedded in.

The brakes work great. The car stops quickly. They are also practically dust free. My old brake pads would dirty my wheels within 2-3 days of cleaning. It's been a month since I installed these brakes and have yet to have to clean the wheels. Great quality product.
