I purchased this catalytic converter for my 2002 Chevy Prizm (aka Toyota Corolla). The muffler installer (Meineke) had no problems mounting or connecting it, no modifications, standard gaskets. The price was just around $200 from APW. You can't beat that. The muffler shops wanted $700 or more for the same cat. (Please note that they will jack up the labor charges if you supply the parts to make up for lost revenus on their overpriced parts. Find a good mechanic who will put on your parts for actual labor cost only.) The only concern is the tube material, will not last more than about 3-4 years bathed in salty snow and slush. But since I only expect to hang on to the car for 2-3 years more, that''s OK. If you are putting a cat on a car in New England or other northern states and you want something that lasts longer, choose one that has stainless tubes.

Overall, a good product at a great price. Not sure about durability (it's only been a month), but my check engine light is off and the repair tested with no leaks after the gaskets were adjusted. My next parts will come from here.

Question: I just replace old catalytic  With this one?lacarlos M. / Apr 28, 2021
Hi Lacarlos2, I'm glad to help you out. Yes. Please check the Vehicle Emission Control Information sticker usually found underneath the hood of the vehicle to make sure the catalytic converter matches the car's Emission label specifications. Federal emissions stickers will just say, "This vehicle conforms to U.S. EPA regulations". California emissions vehicles will state, "This vehicle conforms to U.S. EPA and State of California regulations". I hope this helps. If you are sure that the vehicle has Federal Emissions, you can click on the link below to easily order the part and enjoy the savings while it is on sale. Question: Is this part made to California emissions 1TYXVO1.8FFA?Dave N. / Jan 25, 2021
Hi Dave, If you check the sticker under the hood, the VECI(vehicle emission control information) should indicate-"conforms with CA emissions..and EPA...". This can only be used within the 46 states however. If you are in CA, NY, ME or CO, this is not compatible for your vehicle. You should get the part that says "for CA, 50 state legal use..". The engine family number simply also confirms a match since the engine size is indicated on that 11 digit EFN number.
