Question: I have a 1999 Ranger extended cab 4x4 automatic with the 4.0, I’m not sure if it is equipped with federal or California emissions. Does that matter for fit? Will this part directly fit in place of the factory y-pipe? ThanksTrevor H. / Mar 25, 2021

This part fits the 1999 Ford Ranger XL and XLT 6 Cyl 4.0L 4WD that has Federal type emissions. Some states now require the use of CARB-COMPLIANT AFTERMARKET CONVERTERS. It is important to know your State’s requirements to determine the correct converter for your application and location. The part is very much different for federal and California Emissions. Please check the Vehicle Emission Control Information sticker usually found underneath the hood of the car to make sure the catalytic converter matches the car's Emission label specifications. If this is the right match, yes, it fit fit directly to the factory y-pipe.
