I had replaced the exhaust manifold and catalyst on my 97 Honda Civic almost 4 years ago. I recently did some work on my car and noticed that there was a 'putting' sound from the exhaust. I removed this manifold and found that it was cracked in three places. Exactly where the OEM manifolds crack by the O2 sensor and 2 places on the back. They replaced this unit for free, but I had to pay shipping for my old unit's return. I'm not sure this is all they crack it up to be, being that it's supposed to be an improved design...looks like the manifold is worse off than before.

I purchased this product liking the two piece design. Just in case the manifold cracked again, not expecting it ever to do that. I ended up having it on for about 4 years and noticed a putting sound when the car was cold from an exhaust leak. Thinking it was anywhere else besides the manifold. I pulled the shroud and there was a crack down the middle by the O2 sensor just like the OEM one had. Took it to a friend and he welded it up and it sealed great. Went to drive it again after it cooled down and noticed it still was leaking. Had someone put a board over the tailpipe to build pressure and I felt a leak on the back side of the manifold. Frustrated that an "improved" design would break in more than one place, I pulled off the manifold and down the back in 2 places where cracks over an inch long. Having my friend weld those up too...I should have gotten the extended lifetime warranty on this product...sorely disappointed

I would buy this again, no need to spend $300 extra on one of the other converters that are offered. There was two things that did not go as smooth as they could have. The converter and manifold are to be bolted together by you, which is okay, but they do not supply you with the 4 nuts to do so. I also had to remove the heat shield from this new convertor as it was making contact with the block and causing a vibration noise. No big deal, other than an hour extra time. The install was fast and the product seems of good quality. I would recommend it, and would buy again.
