Based on our records, the Passenger Side, Catalytic Converter will fit a 1998 Ford F-150 Base, 4WD, For Vehicles with 2 Catalytic Converter Per Side. Is your vehicle a 4WD? Did you also encounter this issue on the Driver Side, Catalytic Converter that you ordered?

Question: I ordered one should be here Tuesday I have a Ford 98 f150 5.4 XLT 4 wheel drive I was wondering it looks different than the one I have on my truck the round catalytic converter at the upstream is different looking than the one I have original.. the one that looks like mine shows it on all the 4.6 mine's a 5.4.. the difference right below the upstream is ROUND INSTEAD OF HALF ANGLED CUT.like the one I'm replacing?Herb H. / Mar 23, 2021
Hi Herb,
The fitment details is very important. This driver side catalytic converter fits for a 4WD and for vehicles with 2 catalytic converters per side. As per checking, this is compatible with the vehicle application you provided with California Emissions type, but for federal states use only (46 states). If you do not have 2 catalytic converters per side, this is not compatible.
