I bought this a couple of months ago as a "direct replacement"" for the original. It was extremely difficult to bolt up in the original position. The size of the pipe is not as large as the original. None of the original hangers and supports on the van can be used. Two months after installation the check engine light came on and it will not pass emission inspection. Needless to say I am not happy

Took it to the muffler shop to have it installed. They had to cut and re-weld the flange to make it fit.

I just installed this on my 1998 Sienna. I was struck with the rather hefty construction of the unit (which is a good thing) -- the Y and flange joints are made of double pipe, and the converter itself has a shield. I have spent quite a bit of time fitting the unit on the van, but it would have been quicker if I had started with the most constrained manifold (Bank 1, under the car), and then proceeded with the front (Bank 2) and tail flanges. In any case, I had to use some muscle to wrestle the flanges together. Cannot testify about the long term performance but the check engine light (code 420) was gone first thing I started the engine. This is considerably better than a similar Eastern unit, which I tried installing and which did not seem to work at all (no catalytic activity) from minute 1.
