Its an overall pretty good product. I installed the Gen 2 FIPK on my 1998 2.7L 4WD Tacoma. The one I have is black plastic. I read that K&N made the black plastic ones because the were quieter than the metal ones. I actually wish I could hear mine more. It was fairly easy to install as long as you have the right tools. I do and it took about 1.5 to 2 hrs. I originally got it to increase gas milage but now I'm constantly tempted to put the pedal down..Thats not conducive to my original plan. Its a great product but don't plan on it giving you all that it claims. I went with K&N because its trusted and its warranted. Its a good choice.
