A 99.75% perfect OEM replacement DPF for the Sprinter.Diesel Particulate Filter, 6 Cyl., 3.0L Engine, Base Model
4.0/5
Our 2007 Sprinter box truck had the DPF cut off by some meth heads one night. Thankfully they did it right in front of a hidden security camera we have and they are now guests at the greybar hotel.
Our quote from the Mercedes dealer was going to be just shy of a grand with the core charge. I decided to take a gamble on this unit. This unit is for non-california compliant Sprinter models. California compliant Sprinters have two DPF units behind the catalytic convertor. Make sure you know what model you have before you order.
I am knocking off Juan star for two reasons. I signed up for shipping updates to go to my phone. That never happened. The unit just showed up one day.
The main reason is that the two threaded bungs on the front of the unit are welded in at funny angles. There was also material inside under the bungs that I had to grind out. The EGT sensor would not fit until I did this.
I had to fabricate new hard lines for the DPF pressure differential sensor as ours where cut off by the thieves. I suspect that the angle of the bungs would make it difficult to attach the front OEM hard line back on the DPF if you have it. You would probably have to bend the front OEM hard line to get it back on.
Beyond that the unit is working fine. The ECU is happy with the pressure differential so no engine codes.

Question: How do I know it’s bad ?Sabbb / Apr 04, 2021
Hi Al, I'm glad to help you out. Some symptons of a bad Diesel particulate filter would cause the following as stated below. I hope this helps.
1. Increased idle speed.
2. Cooling fans running.
3. A slight increase in fuel consumption.
4. Increased idle speed.
5. Deactivation of automatic Stop/Start.
6. A hot, acrid smell from the exhaust.
Still, it is best to have your vehicle checked by a certified mechanic for an accurate diagnostic and repair.

Question: hello i am getting a P22A1 and P2BAA code on my 2011 sprinter 2500 how do i know which sensor needs changing ? my DEF fluid seems to be lasting historically longer that usual. i am getting a intermittent quick cut out in the mid range thankskevin d. / Jul 09, 2020
Hello! It is more common for the DEF nozzle or NOx sensor to fail, but it can be a bit difficult to diagnose without proper diagnostic software. I would recommend having a certified mechanic diagnose the problem before ordering parts!
