Part ordered was the part received. It was a perfect fit for my 2015 Ford Explorer. Installation was relatively easy primarily because of a DIYr's video of replacing an actuator on a 2016 Ford Explorer.

Question: My daughter's car is a base model 2014 Ford Explorer we keep having issues with it saying that the driver's door is open and of course the dome light won't turn off will this fix my problem?Roger K. / Mar 06, 2024
Hi Roger, thank you for reaching out! It is possible. It could also be faulty wiring or a door jamb switch. We suggest having it physically checked to determine the exact cause. Have a good one!

Answered by Andrew B. / Wed, Mar 06Question: Hi there, I drive a 2014 Ford Explorer and when I bought it came with only one key that key stop working, it has a 5 button one to start ,lock, unlock, trunk, and panic, I bought a 2 sets of keys thinking that the original key been wore out that would be the solution but no, the new keys do exactly the same, what the old one was doing, I have to put the key in the center console to be able to start my vehicle every time, because seems like the key fobs and the vehicle are not shaking hands at all, every time reads no key detected, I’m thinking about to buy the actuator, what do you think, ?thank youJose C. / Jun 28, 2022
Hello! I would suspect an issue with your vehicles receiver, not a door lock actuator. There are multiple reasons this could be happening, including wiring issues such as a blown fuse, shorts or breaks in the power supply or ground wiring, etc. I would recommend contacting a professional mechanic with a good scan tool for further diagnosis.

Aside from the actuator, there may be other parts that could cause the issue. We highly recommend to have the vehicle diagnosed by a certified mechanic to pinpoint what part needs replacement.
