Question: Will it control window going up and down
2004 Volkswagen Beetle GLS?Sharon G. / May 17, 2023
Hi Sharon, I'm glad to assist you. No, this is for the door locks. What you need is a window motor. We have them available for the 2004 Beetle at this link: https://www.carparts.com/search?q=window_motor&itemsperpage=15&refinements[part]=Window_Motor&vehicle[cylinders]=4&vehicle[liter]=2%2E0&vehicle[submodel]=GLS&vehicle[model]=Beetle&vehicle[make]=Volkswagen&vehicle[year]=2004 I hope this helps, and happy shopping.

This is to latch the door closed / open and controls the lock with electrical connections for alarm.
Nothing to do with the window.

Answered by Tim W. / Sun, May 21Question: Does this contain the micro switch that communicates with alarm, door locks, etc? We have an intermittent issue with our 2001 Beetle. The alarm goes off randomly when the car is locked. It is fine if it isn’t locked. Mechanic said it needed a new micro switch but quoted $420 to fix. I can handle installing this if it’s the right part.Wesley (wes) T. / Oct 26, 2020
Hi Wesley,
We cannot guarantee you this part comes with the micro switch. It is possible that chip is on the main door switch(front driver side switch) of your vehicle not on the door lock actuator. We recommend referring to a trusted vehicle specific repair manual for details about this problem or much better to consult with your trusted local dealership for that specific detail about the micro switch for a careful troubleshooting and diagnostic procedure to identify the problem accurately.

This should fix your issue. If it's the drivers door causing the issue. Could be any other door the trunk/hatch or even the hood.

Answered by Michael V. / Wed, Oct 28Question: Can this be used if you have automatic door locks?jade B. / Sep 03, 2020
Hi Jade,
Yes, this will work on an automatic door lock. For accuracy of fitment, please follow the guidelines below:
To check the fitment please use our Vehicle Selector — which can be found towards the top of the homepage as well as all category, search results, and product pages — can help verify if a part will fit your specific application.
To enter your application, simply select your vehicle’s year, make, model, sub-model, and engine type and click “Go.” Once your application is selected, you’ll see a “Guaranteed to Fit” badge if the part will fit, and we recommend that you also double-check Your Vehicle Fit Details as well as the Vehicle Fitment Information table on the product page.

Answered by pedro / Thu, Sep 03Question: Do you have to program the door lock actuator to your key ?Richard B. / Jun 20, 2021
Hi Richard, I'm glad to assist you. There is a procedure (re-learn/programming) to be done which is on your vehicle's owner's manual. Please check that one and follow the details to re learn and make the door lock actuator work via remote or using the key fob. It would also be best if you can also consult with your local dealership about this issue especially using an aftermarket door lock actuator instead of an OEM factory original one. The fitment information also states it fits from 400001 chassis # onwards (the last 7 digits of your VIN number). Once done confirming details, please click the link below to order this part today and take advantage of our ongoing promo sale price for this part. I hope this helps. Happy shopping.

Answered by Daryl / Sun, Jun 20Question: The sensor for the door alarm is going off, will this fix that issue?Daniel A. / Feb 24, 2021
Hi Daniel,
Door lock actuators are electronic components that are responsible for locking and unlocking the power door locks when the switches are pressed. Here is an article you may want to read and find more information on;

On vw it is all in a self contained unit. This usually fixes the problem. It is very common on VWs from 1999-2009
