Thanks for the review! Based on our catalog, part no. ARBM310101 will not fit for a 1999 Mazda Protege LX 1.6L and most likely that is the reason why it does not fit your vehicle. Please refer to the email we sent you for the return instructions.

This company took the time to examine the shape and it was an exact match to the previous splash shield I had. One screw hole did not match by mere millimeters but I used a zip tie to keep it in place. The other 4 screws fit and was a perfect fit. Thanks guys. Will use you again for future repairs.
