The splash guard is nice. Fits like one. One thing though. You should also provide the screws and bracket to mount it.

I purchased this part and it has proven durable. It appeared and feels just like the original plastic it replaced. Make sure you save your clips or buy extras. Definitely recommend if you need to replace. Perfect fit.

Question: how to install engine shield do I need to buy screws ???Khalid F. / Sep 26, 2020
Hello Khalid- We recommend referring to a good repair manual for step by step instructions. You can find more information here: https://www.carparts.com/blog/why-you-should-always-consult-a-repair-manual/ If the mounting hardware is no longer intact, we suggest getting those locally through a local auto supply store or the dealership.

I have a 2001 BMW (e38) 740i. Unfortunately I can't help with the install as I had my mechanic perform the work. That said, the item fits perfectly as advertised. I've had it on the vehicle for over a year now.

Yes, if the screws are missing from your car, you will have to buy them. I believe they are 16 mm, but I'm not 100% sure. You can do some research and find them.

Question: How can you sell this shield for $30 when other sites are selling their center engine splash shield for $100+? Is this an OEM replacement part or a knock off made of a thinner gauge plastic then what is specified by BMW?This makes no sense and I am leery of purchasing an inferior part.Fred A. / Dec 12, 2020
Hi Fred, This is a direct-fit OE replacement which is similar to the part that it replaces. Replacement products are engineered and manufactured to strict production standards to provide smooth handling and a solid foundation. With application-specific fitment and world-class quality assurance, Replacement offers easy installation and peace of mind for technicians and DIYers alike.

It's fine. I bought one, it's at least as thick as the original. I think this is what this piece of plastic SHOULD cost. I know others charge "BMW prices", but I bought this one and it works fine. Cheers
