Now bad at allFront Engine Splash Shield, Engine Under Cover
5.0/5
It went on with ease. My only issue was not all the holes had the metal insets so I used washers. Only 5 holes had them. It will interesting during the winter next year to see how it holds up. Shipping was actually pretty fast. Let me add the reviews stating it's not as good as the one that came with the car shows me none of those reviews should be taken seriously. The original was a soft felt. That's why ours ripped off during the snow. If this one ever becomes damaged I will get the aluminum or steel one next. This cover does not come with hardware as stated. If you complain about not getting it you didn't read the description or what's included.

Fitment is a lil inaccurate, and product is thin. Needs some thickness and adjust the fitment. Other then that, it will suffice

Works great, a lil inaccurate as far as fitment but works nonetheless. Thin material, could be a lil more thickness

Question: Is this a metal piece?A Shopper / Dec 08, 2020
Hi,
This is made of plastic just like the original.
AP
it looks like plastic like the original but its not. its made of a heavy pressed felt. I sent mine back but every one I've tried to order now is made of felt. Checked with my local Ford dealer and even they only sell the felt one now.

Answered by howard / Tue, Dec 08This part is made of a plastic coated fiber board. I believe there are metal washers built in at the screw locations.

The replacement engine splash shield is hard, durable, and very stiff like plastic, but it has a felt-like look, feel, and surface felt texture on top and bottom of the shield. It looks like hard plastic that was sprayed (or coated) with felt-like material that dried to a felt-like appearance. That should help to muffle sound such as a small rock hitting the shield. The replacement shield does not have a plastic look. The old shield that came on the car was stiff, molded felt-like material. I think the replacement shield is better quality than the original shield. Hope this helps!

Answered by William H. / Tue, Feb 14It's plastic, felt would get ruined by the weather. That's why it's a splash guard.

Answered by James L. / Mon, Feb 13Question: is this the piece that goes under the whole car or just the engine?A Shopper / Dec 29, 2020
Hi,
This is the part that goes, underneath the engine. This is the front section.
AP
Just under the engine. There is a separate part that covers further back.

Answered by besnik U. / Tue, Dec 29Yes, this covers the under half of the engine. Very easy to install if you can get underneath there.
