Same quality as the own Nissan partsPassenger Side Engine Splash Shield, 6 Cyl., 3.5L Engine

Item fit properly. I comes rolled up in box so I left it in sun with some weight on it to flatten it out to make instillation easier.

Nissan Murano passenger side engine splash shieldPassenger Side Engine Splash Shield, 6 Cyl., 3.5L Engine
5.0/5
The time to get the part was really long but thats on the carrier but the part itself is perfect thankyou so much. With all the rain we've been having having this cover gives you peace of mind that your engine is protected from water in the belt section.

Question: What parts are required to attach this part to my 2009 Murano as a shop did not replace it?mjons / Oct 11, 2021
Hi Michael, I'm glad to assist you. The original nuts and bolts of the old splash shield. If they are not reusable anymore, you can easily get them at the local part stores around your area. I hope this helps, and if you're interested in this part, you can click on the link below for direct ordering to take advantage of our ongoing sale and limited stocks. Happy shopping.

You need (4) total Nissan fender liner push rivets to attach the splash shield (two on the side and two on the front where the oval holes in the splash shield are). The Dorman part number is 963-545D (two rivets per pack--one supplier-there are others) and they are available at many parts stores and online. So, to change all you would need a total of two packs with two rivets per pack. I would buy a couple of extra to have on hand for the next oil change, as they are not very expensive (about $6 or so per pack). These rivets are plastic and not super sturdy, and tend to not hold as well or break after a couple of uses.
What typically happens is that, when you take your car in for an oil change, the shop has to remove the splash shield to gain access to the oil filter on the side of the engine. Then, many times, the shop either doesn't replace the splash shield, or enough of the plastic attaching rivets break and won't hold the shield in place any longer and it can fall off. I think Nissan should have made an access door in the splash shield to allow the oil filter to be removed and replaced WITHOUT removing the splash shield entirely, but I guess that turned out to be too expensive, so, for every oil change the shield has to be removed and replaced. You can re-reuse the plastic attaching rivets if they will hold and are not broken. For my car now, I turn the front wheels all the way to the right and remove the four plastic attaching rivets and splash shield before taking it in for an oil change, and then replace the shield and rivets myself when I get the car back. You shouldn't have to do that, but it ensures the shield will be back in place where it was designed. The shield helps to keep the engine cool by ducting the outside cooling air around the engine and by helping to keep splashes from getting the engine wet, but it only works if attached properly. Shops are often rushed and don't always finish all the detail work like putting shields and clips on.

Question: I'm not sure what I should be looking for...My daughter's Nissan Murano had a front passenger flat and when I changed it, I noticed that the panel inside the wheel well next to the engine was missing. I could see a wheel rotating by a belt. I figured that was not good to see it! So, my question is if this "shield" for the passenger side is what I am looking for? thanks! - a momJennifer C. / May 10, 2021
Hi Jennifer, I'm glad to assist you. Yes, that is the missing part on that location. The front engine splash shield made up of molded black flexible plastic. Please click the link below to order the part today. I hope this helps. Happy shopping.

Question: i don't see the parts that attach the splash shield to the rest of the shields. Do you have them?Dave J. / Oct 23, 2020
Hi Dave,
As per checking, this is the passenger side engine splash shield. If you are referring to the mounting clips or hardware, we do not carry those.
