The "replacement" shields for my Prius are the same thickness as the originals. They are the correct size, but minor damage to sheet metal under the car displaced some of the mounting holes, so I relied on cable ties in a few places. That worked well.

It was fine but they folded it in half to ship it to me so it was much harder to get in place than it needed to be.
