Hi Charlie, I'm glad to assist you. This part is installed between the intermediate pipe and central silencer. A direct fit part for your given vehicle application. This part does not have dimensions anymore since this is a vehicle-specific part. This is an exhaust pipe connector. The other direct-fit clamp is part number 35335, by The Walker brand. Answered by Jeonino E. / Sun, Jun 05Question: I have a question about the Bosal Exhaust Pipe Connector (Part #265-119) for my 2002 Volkswagen Passat 1.8L. This is the pipe connector that connects two exhaust pipes under my vehicle. My current pipe connector is disintegrated from rust, which is why I need a new one. My question is, if I buy this new pipe connector and install it in my vehicle, won't I need to apply some kind of gasket or sealant on it to prevent exhaust leaks? When I look at the pictures of this product in detail, I see channels through which exhaust gases can escape, and this is a big concern for me. The two exhaust pipes to be connected are actually separated by a 2-inch gap inbetween them, and both pipes are the same diameter (2.2 inches).Andrew / Dec 14, 2020
Hi Andrew,
A sealant after clamping both ends would be good enough to prevent some leaks if the clamping attachment is tightened. Please consult your local trusted automotive repair shop for this one, they would know what type of sealant is appropriate.
