It is a good idea to replace the drive belt (also known as the serpentine belt) when replacing the water pump and fan clutch, as the belt is likely to have been in service for a similar amount of time and may have similar wear and tear. Replacing the belt at the same time as the water pump and fan clutch can save time and effort compared to having to do it later, and can help ensure that the belt has adequate tension and is in good condition.
Other items you may want to inspect or replace while you have things apart include:
Idler and tensioner pulleys: Check these pulleys for smooth operation and excessive wear, and replace if necessary.
Hoses: Check the radiator and heater hoses for leaks, cracks, or other damage and replace if necessary.
Thermostat: Check the thermostat for proper operation and replace if necessary.
Coolant: Make sure the coolant level is at the correct level and flush the system if necessary.
Remember to always consult the vehicle's owner's manual and any additional manufacturer guidelines before performing any repairs or maintenance, and if you're not comfortable or familiar with a certain task, seek assistance from a professional mechanic.
