Liner needs to be "tweaked" to improve final fitFront, Driver Side Fender Liner, 4 Cyl., 1.8L Engine

This is the second time I have replaced this part and I leant something in the process. I give it 4 stars this time as the part does fit, but requires some manipulation. It is a plastic liner and if you want the finish around the wheel arch to look good, before you install the liner you need to take a hair dryer and heat the plastic of the edge that will be visible when the liner is installed. You do this about 3" at a time. Heat the plastic and bend it in the direction of the bend that already exists. This increases the radius of the bend so it fits better once the liner is instralled.

I was hoping these wouldn’t be of normal poor quality most Chinese produced parts are but they actually exceeded my expectations and are WAY worse. The vents on the bottom front were not cut out like the stock units. The quality of plastic belongs in a dollar store but only if it was dime store and the fitment was atrocious requiring copious amounts of modifications just to have it fit…..like poop. Don’t do it. You can think about it but doooooont do it.

These are definite aftermarket parts that were harder than expected to install, requiring more effort that expected to line the part up with mounting holes. This has resulted in a less than perfect fit so the wheel rubs on the shield during sharp right hand turns where the suspension compresses. This may require further tweaking to work correctly
