Fits like OEMOe Replacement Series Fuel Filter
5.0/5
Excellant fit, comes with o-ring and bottom gasket, also comes with fuel pump harness. Nice that it's the complete top housing as thats where these usually start leaking. Excellant product.

Well-designed kitOe Replacement Series Fuel Filter
5.0/5
The local parts house says the fuel filter for the 1.6L Protege is not user serviceable. I bought this filter kit and it works fine. Comes with everything you need to change your fuel filter. Make sure to remove the fuel pump o-ring from the old filter. I had to use a hacksaw to make room for my dental tools to remove the old one. It's a good thing the kit comes with a new fuel pump wiring harness because they are not removeable once installed. Tips: If the screws retaining the fuel sender assembly are difficult, do not use force, you will only strip them. Just tighten the screws on each side of the difficult one. Be careful with the rubber gasket because you don't get a new one with this kit. If the car's fuel gauge doesn't work, check all connections, and make sure the float is not being caught on something (like a misalligned fuel strainer sock). If that doesn't fix it, install the pump assembly completely, disconnect the plug to the pump, wipe up all excess fuel and allow vapors to dissipate. Once there is no fire hazard, turn the ignition to the "on" (not start) position and then re-connect the plug. The fuel gauge should now work. YOU DO NOT NEED TO LOWER THE FUEL TANK TO ACCESS THIS CAR'S FUEL SENDER, JUST REMOVE THE REAR SEAT CUSHION.
