Upon further investigation this grill will indeed fit a xlt or any other model of Ford with the years 10-13. I don't know who said the vehicle identity thing is right because it's wrong!! I have this grill on my 10 xlt and it got perfect on my son's 13 fx4.

Hi Robert, Unfortunately, this dark gray grille is not compatible with the 2012 Ford F-150 XLT, it is only for the 2012 Ford F-150 XL.
