Looks like brand new car now. Bought for 08 Toyota 4-runner sport edition. Mechanic had no problem installing headlights or fog lights I purchased from car parts. Correct parts came & great fit.

Question: I purchased a set for my 2008 4Runner. The left headlight casts a shadow within the top half of its lighting scope. I don’t see what is causing this. It’s incredibly distracting while driving. Any tips to fixing this?julie S. / Dec 13, 2021
Hi Julie, I'm glad to assist you. Have you calibrated or adjusted the headlight focus to the standard settings? If not, have it adjusted on an auto repair shop. Hi, I had this same issue. I just replaced the headlights and dropped in the same bulbs. Had the same shadow affect on the drivers side headlight. I found the vertical adjusting screw/bolt (it looks like a circular gray metal disk with teeth facing in towards the headlight). I had to raise my lights, by turning it counter-clockwise. I used a philips screwdriver to start moving it and then used my fingers once it started to move more easily. I also used my garage door at night and a post-it note to make sure I was raising the lights properly.

I have the same problem. The strange shadow is cast by both my driver and passenger side replacement headlights Happens with low beams only. High beams seem to work fine. I installed new high quality bulbs in both high and low beams. Didn't solve the problem. So, I took my 2006 Toyota 4Runner to a well respected auto repair shop to have the headlights expertly adjusted. They had the same problem with the shadows in the upper portion of the beams. They were unable to resolve the issue. They told me that the low beam "fish eye" lenses were defective. Clearly a manufacturing defect. It was a lot of work to replace these headlight housings. I do a lot of interstate and in state driving. Currently I do not have properly functioning headlights. Very frustrating. As of now carparts.com seems to be doing everything they can to resolve the issue. Impressive customer service, so far. We will see how it turns out.

I have had similar problem with the ones I bought. Can’t get them adjusted even by Firestone and safety inspection center in Texas. Wish I could get my money back.
