Hi Otis,
The headlight you probably originally have is an HID xenon type. This will not be compatible. The only way to make this halogen type of headlight work to your car is to buy a headlight conversion kit from HID xenon type to Halogen type since the bulb type and size and wiring is totally different compared to the regular halogen headlights. The box you are referring to is the igniter or ballast for the HID headlight.

Hello! The high beams do not appear to be independently adjustable. They should have a wide floodlight pattern that illuminates everything in front of the vehicle.

This halogen headlight set is not interchangeable to the HID (Xenon) headlights nor the HID to halogen.
