2014 Toyota TacomaHelper Spring, Set Of 2
5.0/5
The stock Tacoma rear springs are pretty light duty and sag under light loads. These springs help when hauling light loads as the 4-cylinder Tacoma is not a heavy-duty work horse. Installation is straight forward, but I found the helper springs would only go in one spot due to the spring clamps. With the helper spring installed the ride stays the same, but now I can put a heavier load in the bed and pull my utility trailer without sagging.

These leaf springs did exactly as promised. My truck rides much smoother with the weight of my tools in the bed and does not hit the bump stops when I hit a speed bump or a large pothole

Question: Will these increase the height slightly? The thickness of the spring? 1/2"?Lenny / Dec 13, 2021
Hi Leonard, I'm pleased to assist you. Yes. Helper springs are fully adjustable up to around 40mm for more ground clearance. The thickness of the springs is no longer mentioned in our database. It is guaranteed to have the same thickness as the original factory springs. Click on the link below to order at 30% off the regular price while supplies last. I hope this is helpful. First, I only recommend these be used on vehicles under 1/2 ton (bigger pickups, suvs, cars) size and only on smaller vehicles (small/compact trucks, suvs, cars). In my experience they will lift anywhere from none (extremely bad oem springs that need replaced) to 2" depending on vehicle and suspension already in place. Crank them down tight!!!!!!!!!!!! I've used these on more than one vehicle to eliminate sag when hauling heavier weight. I also use spring over shocks on these vehicles.

Answered by Robin S. / Tue, Dec 14Yes, this will lift the back end up about 1" or so. Maybe if they are tightened all the way down for max tension, could get 1 1/4" - 1 1/2" lift.

Answered by Blake F. / Mon, Dec 13Question: Does this set only do one side?Do I need to purchase 2 sets to do both sides and does that make it 1000 lbs capacity?TJ M. / Nov 21, 2022
Hi TJ, I'm glad to assist you. No, this already covers both sides. Unfortunately, the maximum load capacity of these helper springs is only 500 lbs. Click on the link below for direct ordering to take advantage of our ongoing discount and limited stocks. I hope this helps, and happy shopping.

Since it stiffens the springs, the ride will be affected also. Not enough for most people to notice empty. 500# isn't much of a spring booster unless being used on really small vehicles that don't have any/much hauling capacity to begin with. The springs are basically to help stop rear end sag. They work great for small vehicles when adding bags of sand/salt for weight in winter time.

Answered by Robin S. / Wed, Nov 02it will ride a bit stiffer in the back end, for most people it would be hard to notice.

Answered by Louie L. / Thu, Nov 24Question: So these spring add 500 lbs of capacity to the truck right? I have a 1997 Ford ranger and was wondering if this would help with pulling a trailer ?Stinkyjo / Jun 03, 2022
Hi Jonah, I'm glad to assist you. Yes, the helper spring would make your truck's rear end more rigid/strong enough to pull a trailer. The additional level load capacity is up to 500lbs.
