Although the quality of the hood release is good it is too short by approximately 2". I figure this is probably due to GMC having 2 different body styles in 1999. Not knowing this at the time I ordered the product I decided to keep it and address the issue after all improvements to the interior have been installed. Possibly relocation afterwards. I have what is referred to as the later body style 1999 3/4 ton GMC model SLE 4X4 with the 6.0 liter engine which also is rarely listed on different sites as an option.
