vw01 VW Golf GTI HoodFactory Style Hood Steel Primed

I worked like crazy to get that hood to lock down. I even ordered a new lock from a VW dealer. No luck. I would have liked to return it, but I dented the hood, trying to get it locked down. I measured the old pin and this hood had almost a .25 inch shortfall. I am only talking about the U shaped pin that is welded to the hood. I am going to have to get a hood from VW, as I don't want to have to modify anything.
