I recently replaced my IAC valve in my 1992 Wrangler 4.0L with another brand. That one has a plastic case, and the "reviews" (read too late) indicate I can expect it to fail in the not too distant future. The one I got from Carparts has a heavy metal case and appears to be much higher quality. BUT... one never knows until it is installed and goes a few years without failing.

Bolt-On solution for 97 Jeep XJ - fixed rough idleStandard Oe Replacement Idle Control Valve

I used this ICV as part of a tune-up on my 1997 Jeep Cherokee
XJ - inline six cylinder 4 liter mated to a AX15 manual transmission. The vehicle has 190k and before I purchased it had not been well maintained for over a decade. This vehicle is going to be used in New Mexico in particularly rough territory in the northern mountains.
Tune-Up includes:
All fluids changed - both Diffs, TC, Transmission, Oil, Coolant
New cap, rotor, plugs and wires
Throttle Body removed, cleaned
New water pump
New front brakes
New front shocks (rear shocks are a hot mess - rusted top connections will require hammer drill)
This ICV was used when I removed and cleaned the Throttle Body Assembly to address some rough idle issues and ensure a smooth running, efficient engine system with a proper idle.
This ICV is bolt-on and ready to go out of the package. The O-Ring is already attached. This unit is much more heavy and better built than the unit that was on the assembly. The body is metal and the boltholes are very sturdy.
After a good cleaning and re-assembly, the engine is running much smother and the idle sounds like a new vehicle. I was impressed with the difference this basic service made.

I discovered the site when I needed new solid/cast lug-nuts to replace the junk/sleeved nuts that were on the vehicle when I bought it.
