Hello! I agree with Calvin and LB
MD
Have an electrician do a diagnostic. I had the same issues and replaced a whole host of items not knowing that I had two shorts, one coming from my steering column and one coming from somewhere else.

Question: My truck was running fine, then one day it wouldn't start. It sat for about a week then someone stole my truck. Police found it 3 hours later dead in the middle of the street 6 miles from my home. Truck was towed back to my house and wouldn't start. Changed the fuel filter, cap and rotor. After the new cap and rotor was installed, truck ran for a couple minutes and died. Could it be the electronic ignition module?Phillip M. / Dec 18, 2022
Hi Phil, thank you for reaching out. We suggest that a certified mechanic diagnose your vehicle to pinpoint the part that needs replacement. Have a nice day.

Answered by Ben W. / Sun, Dec 18Question: Can this part make your car start and then cut off?A Shopper / Jan 31, 2021
Hi,
The ignition module of your vehicle is the heart of your entire ignition system. Its two main roles are to create a spark strong enough to ignite the air/fuel mixture for combustion and to control the timing of the spark plugs by opening and closing the ignition coil ground circuit. The module resembles a small electrical box with a wire harness. It is usually located on or in the distributor housing in domestic vehicles, and on the firewall or wheel-well in foreign vehicles. The two most common symptoms of a failing ignition module is Overheating and Sudden failure.
Still, for accurate diagnostic and repair, we recommend referring to a trusted vehicle specific repair manual for details about this particular problem you are encountering. Also, it is best to consult your trusted local auto repair shop or dealership for this for an extensive and careful troubleshooting to see if there are other parts that is causing the problem.
JE
generally, any electronic part can be susceptible to intermittent failure due to over heating.

Answered by Jerry J. / Sun, Jan 31Question: do you recommend replacing this part of you replaced the ignition coil?Shawn S. / Aug 30, 2020
Hi Shawn,
It is best to refer to your local dealership/trusted automotive shop or a reliable repair manual for more extensive and specific information on this.
JE
Without knowing exactly what is going on with your vehicle it's hard to recommend any particular part. I will say that if your vehicle is not sending spark to the spark plugs this part or the coil would be the parts to check out first.
