The handle makes quite a bit of noise when it is used which I believe is due to the contact between the handle-spring and its plastic housing. I expect that this sound will subside over time as the metal wears away the small amount of the plastic that is in contact with the handle-spring.
The interior door handle itself was fairly difficult to install on my 2015 Chevy Malibu due to the fact that Chevy appears to have utilized heat to weld their plastic components together within the door panel. I used a drill to bore out the melted/welded plastic posts of the old handle - you will not see these posts on the originally-installed handle as they were entirely melted down to secure the handle in place in the door panel and the interior-handle housing.

Question: Will this door handle fit 2016 Equinox LTZ lighted?Charles C. / May 10, 2021
Hi Charles, I'm glad to help you out. Unfortunately, this is not compatible with the Chevy Equinox with lighting. We currently don't carry interior door handles for the models with the interior lighting package. We suggest checking your local GM dealership on what they can offer you.
