Simply put it is a rear spring shackle. The old one had rusted and broke. I did not use the frame insert that came with it as I did not have a press to get the old one out. The bolts seemed adequate for the job. No problems it's just a spring shackle. Put it on and never think about it again, cause if your truck is old enough to rust out one time probably never need to wory about it again.
