The install needed no instructions. Just support your lift gate with something so it doesn't fall, remove one side at a time, match the new one with what you took off, and screw that one in its' place. It's that simple. If it takes more than 15 minutes to replace both, something must be wrong. I have only had them one a week, so I do not know the longevity of these lift supports. But once I had them on, I loved them so much, I told people. And it's really nothing to get excited about, but hey, I don't have to hold the lift gate with one hand, and put a pole or something I keep in the back under it just to hold it up. I don't know why the price is different for each. They are exactly the same except for the upper mount which is a mirror image of the other one. Anyway, do yourself the favor. They are almost exactly half the price through this website than in local big chain autoparts stores. Even with having to pay for shipping and buying the torx socket to fit (I think a size T8, but check to be sure), I still saved a few dollars getting them on line here. You wont regret it and you won't mind opening your tail gate again to put anything in the way back.
