it taped with clear tape to hold it in. Nothing wrong w the housing. Are you saying if I order this mirror it is easy for me to just install it in the existing housing?

Hello! This mirror itself isn't powered - that motor is in your mirror housing. You can attatch this mirror to the motor and your powered mirror functions will work perfectly.
