Question: GM, I have a 2012 Equinox and unfortunately my passenger side mirror was shattered into pieces. Just the glass. It seems as if nothing else was damaged. I need to replace the glass part and want to make sure that I get the right item. I am not mechanical savvy at all and am really nervous about taking the whole mirror part off. Answered by Arnel E. / Tue, May 10Its really easy to do. You don't have to remove the whole unit from the car, you just take the glass out and replace it. It just takes a couple of minutes. Make sure you know whether or not yours is heated. I thought mine wasn't heated and I replaced it with a non heated mirror and then realized it should have been a heated one when I got the old one out.

Answered by Joe / Tue, May 10My original mirror didn't have blind spot mirror. I like this much better. I'm 80 yrx old. Changed it my self in about 10 min. Dealership wanted app. 400$
. Told me arm part was broken.. They tried to rob me. I didn't get this old by being stupid. 25.00 and I'm happy.

Answered by Aldrin P. / Tue, Jan 18I'm no car expert myself.. but as far as I know as long as the ball hinge connection for the side mirror isn't damaged.(the plastic piece that moves around electrically). It should pop right on.. hope this help.

If the old glass is still in there you need to pop it out with a screwdriver and push the new one gently back in the same clips with even pressure.
