Question: very hard next to impossible to extend and once you get them pull out and they are very hard to push back is there some way to loosen them up?Steven H. / Oct 18, 2022

I don’t know if there is a way to loosen them up because I don’t have that issue. Mine are firm to pull out and firm to push in, but not as much as the ones you have, apparently.

They loosen over time, I work at a car wash so I wash all the time and now they dont stay in.

Forgive me if my memory is off by a model year but I think the 1999 silverado was a different body style and door from the suburban which would change body styles the following year or two. As I recall 1999 suburban and some Tahoe had the "classic " styling while the pickups all had new body style after 1998. In other words the doors are different from suburban to silverado in 1999 due to over supply of suburban from the prior model year or years.
