I needed to replace the driver’s side mirror on my 2010 VW Jetta. The old one’s housing cracked and was an eyesore on an otherwise decent looking car. Answered by Andrew B. / Tue, Apr 05You have to remove the interior door panel to get access to the wiring and connections, should just be a couple screws on the inside and the panel is held in by grommets, just slowly pry it out. Once you have the door panel off you can disconnect the old mirror and install the new one. Just be careful the factory cable management isn’t that great but it’s a fairly easy job, all you really need is a screwdriver. If anything just figure out how to take the door apart and the rest will be apparent.
