Hello there are no modifications needed for muffler of u have to cut your existing tail pipe you will have to add an adapter or extend pipe I replaced the tail pipe as well so for me it was a direct fit took me around 30min complete installation my Expedition has a lift kit so I could lay under vehicle with out having to jack vehicle hope this is helpful
