I took out my original 'Y' pipe from the factory {1. 5"} in my '64 Mercury Meteor {390CID} and now run two of these babies with 2" pipes coming out in F of my rear wheels, sound is excellent, no too loud, unless I step on her and even then it's a nice deep growl unlike those little 4 bangers with ultra loud crapping exhaust

Not sure if it was my mistake or yours? But I had to send the mufflers back. Body's were to long . And they were the wrong diameter. So I sent them back!

Not too loud, no droning. End of exhaust pipe is cut high for maximum clearance. The small stub pipes coming out of the muffler are not stainless. The muffler itself is sold as stainless. I was going to run all stainless, but no worries. Steel it is.
