Not anywhere close to a direct fit! Unable to use and too late to return.Muffler, 5.7L, 8Cyl, Soundfx Series

I bought this muffler for my 1997 GMC Suburban C2500 and in the description it indicates that it's a "Direct Fit." This muffler is nowhere near a direct fit- The two inlet pipes on the muffler are 2" but the factory stock pipes on my suburban are 3", and they are too close together (on the muffler) as well. I had this muffler for several months before I had time to install it, and by that time it was too late to return. I have since bought a Magnaflow exhaust system but I am stuck with this muffler and tail pipe.
