I am very disappointed in the water pump, to say the least. I had simply wanted to do preventive maintenance, I had no cooling issues.
After installation I could Not get the coolant to equalize and there was a howling sound I have never heard.
I have turned a wrench for over 40 years.
Engine would over heat rapidly. I thought may be a vapor lock, but Jeeps usually don’t have that problem. Cool it off, start it and it would red line in minutes. Finally I had no choice but to pull your GAT42000 x 1 Water Pump, Seriously! I went to local NAPA and got a replacement, The impeller is backwards, now I get to deal with antifreeze mess again. THANKS A LOT
Then because of the bad water pump, and multiple over heating it over and over, now thermostat is bad, More antifreeze mess. .. Now the Jeep is Cooling fine but now I have a knock that I never had.
Get that, BS, NOW I am going to pull the motor because of horse shit quality water pump. I use to think Gates was excellent, I will never buy another Gates product and needs less to say I want to return it and get a refund, and we should talk compensation, because this is all on that defective water pump.
