4.0/5
My 1998 Accord EX 4 cylinder had an intermittent code P0420 (catalyst efficiency below threshold, bank 1). After much reading, I learned that the two O2 sensors (upstream & downstream) are compared to determine the catalytic converter efficiency and set this code. The O2 sensors can be degraded enough to set this code without setting an O2 sensor code. I changed both sensors (since they were at 140,000 miles each) and the code has been cleared now for several weeks. Several shops had suggested replacing the catalytic converter; however, I'm glad this was not needed. The new sensors arrived quickly and were an exact replacement. They were easy to replace and have worked perfectly. Great product at a good price.
