Question: 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 Base 4.8L is there another Evap valve/ purge solenoid near the fuel tank ? Because I’ve got one on top of my intaDaniel B. / Sep 18, 2020
Hi Daniel, Yes, there is a Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid and a Purge Valve. We highly recommend having the vehicle diagnosed by a certified mechanic to determine what part needs replacement.
GG
Yes. There is a purge valve that mounts on the intake. There is also a canister control valve that mounts above the fuel tank. The one by the tank removes the vapor pressure as your tank gets closer to empty. The purge valve sends the unused fuel vapor from the motor back to the tank.
